I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! I have been sick since the day after Christmas so that is the main reason I didn’t post a new blog entry last week, yesterday was the first day I really felt like the end was in sight regarding this “crud” I’ve had. Louie has been great adjusting to his new house and neighborhood. Every time we meet someone new on our walks he is quite the gentleman and stays calm whether or not they have a furry companion. On Christmas day, we had dinner with our neighbor Cindy and her chiweenie, Penny. Louie and Penny hit it off immediately and he quickly made himself at home in her bed.
Louie has been getting used to the backyard. He finally got to where he’ll go out there by himself if the weather is to his liking. Once during a reprieve in a downpour I had to put him on his leash to get him to take a squirt before we went to bed. He holds it for hours! He is good on a leash, I think someone at Saving Grace spent some time with him, he seldom pulls and walks beside me most of the time. Dudley and Zoe used to take me for a walk. Plus I can maintain an air of alpha dog with the leash long enough for him to walk instead of balk when we walk outside. And I do pile on the praise when he does his business in unpleasant weather and give him a treat when we come inside.
Louie has done very well meeting our neighbor dogs. If Fasa is running loose next door, Louie might do a couple of laps with him and then something else catches his interest. He is good with Nahla behind us and the dogs beside them. He hasn’t had much interaction with Bourbon and Kenzie yet, but I expect him to get along with them as well as he does with every other dog he meets. I really want to try and get a video of him running, he looks like a deranged dingo, but he’s having fun!
Even though I felt like warmed over dog poo, being sick with Louie around was hands down better than being sick without him around. He even came back and snuggled on the bed a few times when I was napping. The picture below is why I’m going to have to break down and buy a new computer, the motherboard fried and will cost about as much to fix as it would to get a new computer. Try as I might I couldn’t download or copy it from Google+ although most of the other pictures I took that day were easily copied. So, until I get that, I’m not going to attempt a revamping of the website, but I do hope to start posting weekly.

What a handsome fella! I can’t wait for him to meet Miss Lillie!
I’m looking forward to seeing him with Lillie, too! He likes girls! Hope you feel better soon!

You have to come and meet him.
I love that last picture of Louie. What a face and what a sweetheart! I’m so glad he was such good company while you were under the weather. Hope you’re feeling better and that you and Louie are having fun.
